The residents of Ojo de Agua have only had water approximately two days a week up until now. Pipeline bursts were almost a daily occurrence due to planning errors and malfunctions in the water network. The 19 km long pipeline, supplying drinking water to the village on the border between the provinces of Santiago del Estero and Cordoba, runs with differences in height of between 50 and 80 m. The non-functioning venting valves triggered high water pressures, which the pipeline is not equipped to handle, and therefore caused pipeline damage and bursts.
Reconstrucción Caños installed the Primus Line® system and appropriate new exhaust air valves over a distance of three kilometres on behalf of a cooperative looking after the drinking water supply to the village and the network operator. All work, such as the insertion of the pre-folded pressure pipeline with a special DN 203 diameter and an operating pressure of 36 bar over 3 km as well as the installation of the connectors and venting valves, was completed within 48 hours. The installation of the Primus Line® was carried out in three sections of 920 m, 735 m and 965 m.
