Since 1982 TT's Bedford-based UK sister company TRACTO-TECHNIK UK Ltd offer innovative trenchless methods and equipment solutions to customers in Great Britain and Ireland, South Africa, India and the Middle East, supported by a strong distributor network with an excellent customer pre- and after sales service being a number one priority.
GRUNDOMAT Soil displacement hammers for the underground installation of socketless short or long pipes up to OD 160 made of plastic or cables as well as for property service connections (FTTH), piling, pipe ramming and pipe bursting.
GRUNDODRILL HDD for the installation PE pipes to ND 700 underneath roads, railway tracks and buildings.
GRUNDOBURST for the trenchless replacement of old supply and drainage pipes from ND 50 to 1000 with new pipes of almost any material. Also applicate for close-fit lining techniques e.g. TIP or the Pipe Reduction method.
GRUNDOMAT soil displacement hammers work precisely and reliably applying the 2-stroke-principle. Using this method short or long pipes without sockets up to OD160 (plastic material such as PE, PVC or PE-X) or cables up to a length of 25 m (depending on the soil, even longer is possible) are pulled in.
For establishing property service connections for gas, water, sewage, electricity and broadband the machine (FTTH) can be launched directly from the inside of the building.
GRUNDODRILL are intelligent and powerful HDD rigs for installing PE pipes up to ND 700 for gas, district heating, drinking water supply and disposal as well as cable protection pipes for power and fibre optic cables, telecommunication, traffic management systems, emergency call pillars, parallel installations, crossings, crossing under waters and traffic ways.
GRUNDOBURST rigs are perfectly equipped for pipe renewal using the static pipe bursting method. With the powerful and robust pulling rigs, damaged old pipes with diameters up to 1,200 mm (circular and oval profiles) can be renewed without the need for trenches. Pipe bursting is an acknowledged and most important, sustainable method for renewing pressure and gravity gradient lines; it has been in use all over the world for the past 30 years.
Yarraville is one of the many fringe areas in the west of the Australian metropolis Melbourne. Like all suburbs of Melbourne within a circumference of 5 to 10 km, it belongs to the administration district of the city of Maribyrnong. Typical for Yarraville is the chequered streetscape with its detached houses bedded in gardens and rows of trees. The overall picture encompasses parks and recreation areas like the McIvor Reserve, with large and small sports grounds and recreation centres, playing fields, dog runs and adventure playgrounds, which are used intensely by the residents.
PROBLEMS WITH AN AGEING SEWER
Of all places, the Benbow Street, coursing from east to west on the outskirts of Yarraville, hits the McIvor Reserve. This is exactly where the problems with a sewer reaching the end of its service life had started, in the street close to the nature reserve. Along a stretch of 99 m, the old ferroconcrete pipes ND 750, which had been rehabilitated with a GFRP-liner some time before, now had to be replaced.
